How many sessions will I need for the best Tattoo Removal results:
The amount of time required for the removal of a tattoo and the success of the removal varies with each individual and their immune system function. Factors influencing this include: Skin type, tattoo location, colour or colours used, amount of ink, scarring or tissue change, layers of ink, immune system function and circulation.

Tattoos located on the extremities, such as the ankle, generally take longest. As tattoos fade clinics may recommend you wait months between treatments to help ink resolution and minimize unwanted side effects. Typically anything from 8-15 session can be require at 6-16 week intervals for maximum results.

How does Tattoo Removal work?
Our laser tattoo removal treatment works by using powerful highly concentrated pulses of light waves to heat up the ink particles. Applied precisely over the tattoo the ink particles beneath the skin shatter and fragment as the laser breaks down the ink molecules.

Your body’s immune system will then safely absorb the molecules without damaging the surrounding tissue before being expelled naturally.

Does Tattoo Removal hurt?
Unfortunately, no method of tattoo removal is completely pain-free. Laser tattoo removal has been likened to the feeling of having a rubber band repeatedly snapped against the skin. Others describe it as a rapid succession of sharp pinpricks, or a warm, prickly sensation. Because a lot of energy is needed in order for the laser to break up the ink particles under your skin, this treatment can be uncomfortable for some people. Your skin will also need 6 – 10 weeks to recover between treatments.

What is the aftercare following a session?
All aftercare will be provided during your consultation and patch test, drinking plenty of water during your course of treatments can really help the body to flush the ink out once the laser breaks it up.

What if I have various colours or a very large tattoo?

The laser machine may need further sessions to target larger or more stubborn areas. The best thing to do is book a consultation and patch test so we can discuss your requirements further. We can treat all ink colours including black and multicoloured inks.
